The clavis aims to give essential resources for each author including history of texts, published editions, series and wherever possible online links. After primary sources in original languages and English translation, under each heading are a few influential secondary texts, principally in English, some of fundamental importance and which, we hope, will be helpful to the reader coming new to a particular theme. It should be noted that this is an annotated guide to sources for the English reader not a general bibliography, rather a compendium. However, it is envisaged that this clavis will grow progressively as the journal tackles different topics while at the same time remaining clearly focused; and in so doing gradually clear a series of paths in thinking by placing some of the foremost concerns of Freud within an historical perspective.
